Surfing Australia Surf school’s present the Safe Surfing Program, designed to take the beginner from the edge of the beach to competition surfing. 

The 5 Certificate Program is self-paced and rewards participants as they progress, as you achieve more you are recognized for your efforts.

 

 

To attain the Level One Safe Surfing Certificate 2 lessons are required.  The ‘Safe Surfing’ program endorsed by the Australian Sports Commission and delivered by Surfing Australia surf schools.

• Reading surf conditions and identifying dangerous situations
• Basic fitness for surfing
• Paddling
• Catching broken waves
• Wave zone negotiation
• Wiping out safely
• Equipment for surfing
• Sun smart behavior
• Sport safe behavior
• Environmental awareness

 

The Safe Surfing Program presents participants with physical, social and environmental opportunities. It incorporates action situations of increasing complexity as participants work through the program.

School Surfing Programs

Surfing Services Australia delivers the ‘Safe Surfing’ Program to many schools such as St. Augustine’s Primary School (Currumbin Waters) and St. James Primary School (NSW) and have worked with these schools over the last 5 years. We also do programs with Marymount Secondary College, Elanora, Tallebudgera, Kings Christian College, Robina, Palm Beach,  Gilston, Sherwood, Dubbo College,  Talent Schools, groups from Wesley Mission Brisbane and other local schools.

Catering for any group size is easy

We can organize programs for groups of 5 up to 105! Large groups are our specialty. We will ensure to have your groups well looked after and organized from start to end. Constructively enjoying their time at the beach, learning many varied surf and surfing related skills.

Plus – other programs that we can offer are incorporating beach games, team building activities, beach yoga, fitness classes, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing and lots more. If you would like a tailored program put together please let us know and we will outline a plan for you.
